yates snoflake, tanny fans on this site so we have to tread carefully, awesome find, looks in great shape. had a 30" years back, traded it off in a weak moment. looking at a moak 36" on monday. fay and egan lightning line, right? i have a 505 SET any interest? 5 head DMD in good shape with or without new carbide reversiblke staggered heads

yates, tanny, oliver, doesnt matter to me as long as its old and gold. I lucked out with the snoflake and got a steal on the price but was biteing my nails for a week because I was 3rd in line for it. It just worked out the 2 befor lived in Vancover and the shipping was a bear I assume. I drove up from Tenn to get it.
The 552 lightning came from Cali. only with the help from the shipping dept at work. Got it shipped in for under $300 or I wouldn't have had this baby.
Im sorta new to the big stuff dadude and not familar with the 505 what would that be.

the 505 is a single end tenoner, 5 station, top & bottom tenon, top & bot coping and cuoff saw, all ball bearing direct mtr drive, i can email you a pic if you like

The 505 would be my favorite single end if it had a tilting table. Real eye candy and a work horse too.

Really sweet saw, I am going to have to pos some pics of my tanny.....

Am I seeing it correctly that the entire upper arm of the bandsaw raises when you tension the blade?

yep Pete....it will lower to around 8 ft I think. I will have to get back to you on that one. It uses a 19' 11" blade at its full higth. I will try to get some pics of it mon or tues. I am working 12's this weekend so I won't be doing too much in the way of getting anything done on the shop.

just browsed your site, your dedication to arts and crafts design has my applause, great work. i grew up in fayetteville, ny final home of Stickley Furniture, now mass produced in nearby manlius, ny. my introduction (or spoiling) to single end tenoners was a greenlee 534 orginally purchased by stickley, great machine and still my favorite, just came across one with a tilting table, may still be available? through the yrs i have never been without a SET, a millbury, greenlee, fay and egan and wadkin. presently i have two, do not need two but the wadkin came along with a very attractive price from canada, usa folks were concerned of the 550v aspect and the dealer actually "gave" it away, lucky me. i really like the wadkin in everyway, no table tilt though, can see were your work would benifit greatly by a tilt. pre wadkin i had new heads made for the 505, so now the wadkin is used for cabinet doors and the 505 for entry and passage door work, really would like to sell the 505 but no real pressure. let me know if you would like track down tilting 534 greenlee

Thanks Brad, I will keep that in mind. I'm negotiating on a Maka mortiser with a a Heian SET. While the Heian was made in Japan it has one feature I got to really like which is the saw as first station. I was just in Manlius the beginning of this month (thanks to one of my clients). Got to meet some of the Audi family and go thru the factory again. While they are modern it's still traditional work. They are now manufacturing in Viet Nam of all places (memories) G&G style furniture along with others.

It's been a bit tough after downsizing getting used to a small shop and not the big budget for machinery. A lot less headaches though.

You did get the deal for a machine in that condition. Very close to plug-n-play. I was suprised no one snapped that one up sooner. Good score.

Mystery, do we have to guess the price? Perhaps in price per pound. we can do comparisons to the local grocery store.
