where to find an old 66?

Post by buck shot »

I'm looking for a nice little saw for those extra little things - small miters, tenons, dados, etc.

I like to have a saw around that isn't stronger than me. The old Powermatic 66 was perfect - 3HP, left tilt blade, nicely made. Now they make them in the basement of a school for the mentally handicapped in sri lanka. The new ones are just awful.

Anyone know where I can find an old one?

I like ebay for lings far and wide. Right now tools on ebay, in my opinion, are going cheap. At least older cast iron is. For shipping, I have been using freightquote.com thay have great rates, and are real easy to use. Send it to a local business that you know, to save on residential delivery costs. My friend sends stuff to his local lumber yard, and gives the guys in the yard a 12 pack of beer for loading and unloading.
