Finally finishing up the rebuild of my G4B. The last part is the original Howell 115/230V 1HP 1750 rpm motor. There are two things I'm trying to figure out.
1. The motor bearings have large Zerk type fittings in the casting. I'm pretty sure they are designed to receive oil, not grease, but I'm not sure. Do you guys have any info on these motors?
2. The box that holds the start cap also contains what looks like and open frame line voltage start relay. It reads "Potter and Brumfield MS2A". I can't find any info on this anywhere on the web. It's needs to be replaced because it clatters and sparks when the motor is shut off. Not sure what to replace it with.
Motor Frame: A203
Serial No: 1616M 17
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Let me know if you need some photos

Hammond Motor Relay
Here's some info on your relay (see page 4 at the bottom):

It appears that it is adjustable? Maybe just dirty contacts, or ???
Here's a place showing 66 available:

You might try posting over on OWWM.org in the "Everything Electrical" section - lots of knowledgable people there who could help you find a proper substitute if yours needs replacement.
Going by the serial number of your motor, it appears to date from 1951. Howell made motors with multiple bearing options - the bearings you have would determine oil or grease.
