Hammond G4B pulley

Post by Dhags »

Hi there,

New to this forum, & want to say first thank-you to whomever set all of this up. It obviously was taken alot of time, $, & effort to make all this happen. So I like to say thanks. This is a very valuable resource for those of us who like rebuilding machines.

Now onto business.

I've got a G4B Hammond say that I have dragged out for my next resto. Its missing a couple parts, namely the drive pulley off the motor. I think it should be about 4 1/2" OD. I'm running a 1750 RPM motor on it. If i'm not mistaken the blade speed should be around 3500, I think.

If anyone has that info, thanks in advance.

Dana, welcome to the forum.

I think the pully is bigger, although its hard to measure without pulling the guard off. More on the nature of 5" plus in diameter. The blades ran a bit slow as woodworking saws, so the larger the pulley, the better if you are cutting wood.
