Shipping a G100

Post by makebhm »

I just bid on a G100 and won it. I'm a Hammond Glider newbie, and I don't know the particulars of the machine that will help me set up shipping from California to Alabama. (weight, moving parts, packaging concerns, etc.) Can anyone give me some pointers that I can share with the freight company?

Thanks!

Figure 450 as the weight, so at least 500 prepared for shipping.

They are top heavy, so if it is going to ship vertically, they need to be well secured to the pallet.

They don't lay down on their sides very nicely. If you do plan on doing this, I would suggest removing the finger scale and table lock and laying it on its left side. Of course, this means you have a competent person packing it as they do take a bit of fussing to remove.

Make sure the accessories are all packed well as they are becoming harder and harder to find.

You'll love the G100, it is an impeccable piece of engineering.

Thanks crzypete, that's what I needed. Do you happen to know the LxWxH of the machine?
