BGS 78 Trim-O-Saw
I needed an arbor for my G4B s/n 5830 to fix a blade runout problem and chanced to come upon a BGS 78 s/n 12255 saw for little money.
I don't think the BGS 78 has been mentioned in this forum so I thought you Hammond Junkies would be interested.
The BGS 78 is a benchtop, fixed blade, sliding table saw. The arbor and motor mounts are fixed and welded in place. The sliding table has the steel ways and is the same depth as the G4B but is about 2 inches narrower. The micrometer is shorter, also.
Here's what it looks like:
The arbor internals fixed my G4B blade runout problem. I've been trying to think of something useful I can make using the sliding table, but nothing so far.
Your comments welcome.

Hi David, Thanks for sharing. I have one of those BG78's in my studio right now and they are cute as the dickens. It has been my experience that they made at least two bench top models, this and the G2, which incidentally there is one on eBay right now http://cgi.ebay.com/Hammond-Glider-Trim ... 0752189275
Too bad you had to kill that little glider to save a big one. I think I'd be tempted to find a Ben Franklin to gut to save the mini glider.
I am curious about the section of missing table- the portion that would normally open up as you raised the arbor, Is that something you still have or does it look like it broke off a while ago.

This is in response to your question about the missing table.
There is a sheet metal panel that fits with the belt guard to effectively cover the area where the pivoting table usually is. I think this is original and there was no pivoting table. With the arbor fixed above the table surface, there is no need or use for the iron table top.
