FS: 12" AEM Widebelt Sander

This machine has been fully rebuilt to exacting standards. I tore this machine down to its bare elements and modified it to create one of the smallest footprint wide belt sanders anywhere. The complete details of the rebuild are here: http://machinejunkie.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=328

The covers are stainless steel. It was rebuilt with all new bearings and a new conveyer belt. The sanding drum was resurfaced and I added a VFD to allow for variable speed on the conveyer motor.

This machine tracks with a pneumatic eye and performs perfectly. The main drive motor is in the base and is 5hp 3Ø. You could swap it out with a single phase motor with very little effort. The conveyer motor is already single phase via the VFD.

This machine uses 13" x 48" sanding belts and has an overall footprint of 24" x24" and is about 6' 8" tall. It is the perfect machine for a small or basement shop. It will run rings around a drum sander as you can quickly change grits and the length of the belt makes for excellent sanding- removing material while staying cool.

I am selling this because I bought a bigger machine as I now have more shop space than I did when I rebuilt this one.
