I know very little about this machine, except that I purchased it on a whim to save it from the scrapper.
Here is the good, the bad and the ugly, from what I do know or have observed:
The Good:
Seems to be quite complete. The following items are present:
1. Rolling dust drawer (on metal casters)
2. What appears to be the original Howell Electric 1/2 hp. 1750 rpm induction motor (115v/230v, presently wired 115v). I have bench tested the motor on 120v and it runs smooth and quiet (bearings do have some rumble on shut-down).
3. Original sheet metal pully cover, micrometer gauge, work holder clamp, batter gauge, miter vise, and tool grinder bracket.
This model DOES NOT have the rolling table, but a sliding micrometer gauage that fits into what I would describe as a snug, oversized miter slot (e.g., approx. 2" wide x 1.5" deep). It slides feely, after a little cleaning, de-rusting and lubrication. The lead-screw advance mechanism is functional (although it would be best to remove and polish the lead screw) as it sits.
The Bad:
This saw sat in an unheated garage for the past several years after the PO was placed in a nursing home. It had bad surface rust on the table (which I have given a quick and dirty cleaning) and on all exposed machined surfaces.
This IS NOT the sliding table "Glider" model, although it seems to function quite well as designed, and the action of the micrometer gauge in its track is smooth.
The motor needs new bearings. The saw arbor sounds like it needs new bearings. The dust bin needs a little bit of metal straightening, nothing outrageous, but the bottom edge needs some attention.
The Ugly:
The cabinet is quite rusty at the bottom, especially the right side (facing the saw) and the rear. It is not rusted through the heavy-gauge sheet metal, but it definitely needs to be worked over with a media blaster, needle scaler, or wire wheel, and will then require glazing, priming and paint. No holes (yet) due to rust, but with further neglect, it could happen!
The original blade guard is present, but has been broken, welded (badly) and re-broken at the crappy weld. The blade guard is fix-able, and otherwise in good shape, but needs to be (competently) welded.
I have been pleasantly surprised with how heavy-duty and well designed this little saw is -- popular perception to the contrary, this is not a toy!

Asking price is $150. The saw (and I) are located in Tallahassee, Florida. I can hold/store this TrimOSaw for a reasonable time (e.g., 3 months) with full payment received.
