Not bad!! As you know I do not need it but it does say Oliver. Do you know if this machine rotates below 1000 rpm? I am just going on what the headstock dial says.

Yeah, that's pretty damn fast- even with a VFD you couldn't slow it down that much- definitely is a spindle lathe.
So tempting at $100, but those were certainly not oliver's flagship machine.

they built a ton for schools and they are everywhere.

I've actually been watching that lathe. I don't know why because it isn't enough of a step up from the one that I am using now( maybe a little heavier but that it).
This was the lathe that I used in philly. I liked it OK but slowest speed is 800 i think. I've been chucking up large logs on the lathe and it scares the bejeezes (where's that spell check damn it!) out of me when I first start roughing it out.
The dream lathe is the oneway or stubby hands down. Unfortunately there aren't any on the second hand market. :cry: I actually like these stupid little faces :wink: what the hell is this one doing? :lol:
