what a great find. I really like the sliding table. Check the bearings before replacing them. They may not need to be replaced. A good cleaning can go a long way.

Hello rwarnoldjr I have an extra miter vise. I do not recognize your model number. Is the line up gauge the "finger" that works on the micrometer rail? Is the batter gauge the bolt on style like the G100, or is it cast into the table like the G-4. I have an extra light fixture. It attaches...

When we where students at RIT, our professor had some large pieces of Easter chocolates. He proceeded to cut them up on the band saw. It got everywhere, and slowly melted into the bearings, and guides and everything. The saw was never the same. Adjusting anything on the saw became a real chore. I th...

Looks great.

Makes me think I should clean all my metal machines. Did you add chocolate to the speed index wheel?

That little crown sure does lift a load.

Will the 40t blade give a better finish? I would go with the 30t blade. The saw is a RIP saw. No plywood, no cross cut end grain. Is there a special if you order more than one? If so, let me know because I want to order another 16" blade also.

Check how many leads are on the motor, and how they are connected. Once I had a motor that would run, but was unable to take a load. The motor was tucked way up under the machine, so when I checked the leads, they looked ok. After removing the motor, the leads were wrong.
Good luck

What e nice find. The light and the aluminum guard in place and not broken is a rare find. I have a 1 hp motor on my saw. It works just fine. Ebay is a great source. Farm and tractor supply also have new motors at fairly good prices. Did you get the finger gauge and the top clamp with the machine? I...

I get limber from a reclaimed lumber yard. His main job is removing nails. They use those hand held metal detectors like you see at airport security. They have a 5 gallon pail full of them. I dont think they can cost that much, seeing that he has so many.

Hello Black creek,
Dadude and Pete are right. Any transformer with a higher enough, or higher kva rating, for the horse power will work. I bought one from a used surplus place in RI. I will look up who it was.

Some stats and stories. I bought it at a local auction last week. Purchase price of $350.- Hired rigger on site to place it on local flatbed wrecker. As you see in first photo, we used the forklift to "Take some weight off" so the mill would not drop the last inch onto the ground at the sh...

A very nice auisition. Congradulations.. I believe CRZY Pete has a formula for the "Weight Per square foot" (ratio of cast iron tonage to square feet in ones shop). A bridgeport certainly gets that number up quickly. I left school with your same thoughts. A bridgeport and an Oliver 166 are...

That table saw island is impressive. It looks as flat as the jointer table. My table saw outfeed still has some cedar shingles sticking out the back.

Now you need some carts to keet stuff from piling on top of that table saw outfeed.

The saw stop is an interesting debate. I feel that good habits are worth more than a new saw. I think more times than not, the piece of wood itselft, kicking back, will hurt you, not actual hand contact with the blade. DB comments on the riving knife do put points in the saw stop column.
