Hammond Glider G44B w/Sliding Table, New Blade
Very nice Hammond Glider for $375. Table slides on ball bearings. Motor and speed set up for wood cutting. Includes a new 7 inch blade that cost me $140, the best blade you can buy for this saw. Also includes belt guard, blade guard and new arbor bearings. Nice 3 phase Baldor 2 hp motor. Includes ca...

Dust Collection
I haven't set up mine for dust collection yet but I was thinking about making a piece of plywood with a port that would quickly and easily fit in front instead of the dust bin (maybe magnets?). That way it wouldn't be necessary to cut a hole in the saw's base. It would be good to design the connecti...

Hammond rpm
I went with a pulley that I already had and it gave me 4839 rpm, which seems like a good speed so far. I made some initial test cuts and was impressed.

Blade rpm for Wood?
I have a 2 hp 3450 rpm motor that I plan to put on my Hammond for woodcutting. Might even be overkill for cutting wood with this little saw. What is the best rpm for cutting wood? I have a woodcutting blade from The Blade Mfg Co. I also have a nice new iron 3" pulley that will give me 4400 rpm....

Best Miter Gauge Design for Woodworking?
The stock gauge on the Hammond Glider sliding table is for 90 degree cuts or forward angles (only) with the small optional gauge. I would like to make a miter gauge, but coming up with a design that is convenient to use is not easy. I can do metalworking too, so making parts is not a problem. Ideall...

Modifying Hammond Arbor
I was about to modify my Hammond arbor for standard 7 1/4" blades when someone recommended not doing that. They also recommended a source for a high quality wood cutting blade for the saw. So I went that route. I feel now like his advice stopped me from making the wrong decision at the last min...

Hammond Glider Modifications?
Removed the paragraph causing the error. Here is the rest of the post. I bought a Hammond G44B last year and am currently working on the arbor. I plan to do a full restoration in a year or 2. I have some observations, comments and questions. This saw is made more like a machine tool, precision made ...
