Does this picture help? The two arms that stick out from the spring should be up against the long handle.
In the picture you can see one arm of the spring sticking out. The other arm in tucked out of sight.

Your badge file looks great. Be sure to report back about the etching process. I am just about to try it for a Canadian drill press that I have. BTW, the G100 and serial number are stamped on the aluminum plate so if you want you tag to look authentic I would leave that space blank and punch it in l...

Dust Collection on a Glider
Has anyone set up dust collection on their glider. I am curious to see what others have done.

Glider Paint Colour
Hi,
Does anyone have any specs on the original paint colour for the Gliders? I would like to paint mine the original colour. I am hoping someone has already done some research and has the paint code for the colour

On another note, I trued a hammond facepate on my lathe for a saw I am fixing up for a friend and was thinking how wimpy that plate is. It is so soft and easy deformed. It would be pretty easy to make one up out of steel. I was also thinking more about the concept of making an arbored saw with just...

Pete, I had a look at some other images online and you are right about the motor plate. It is mounted too far to the pulley side of the saw because of the short motor shaft. The motor only has a single pulley as well so I am already on the hunt for a nice old motor that will suit it well. I think th...

Very old G4 serial number 1548
Hi All, I just bought a G4 with the serial number 1548. That number is lower than the 1560 that is listed by Czypete in his incomplete guide (which is quite complete) I paid $175 CDN for the saw, so that is just peanuts in US dollars. My saw is missing some pieces - the finger assembly, clamp, light...

I was thinking about a fence for the saw that just sat to the right of the blade and did not interfere with the sliding table. Maybe something like a long batter gauge that let you rip long stock. I don't use the fence on my INCA all that often but I do use it. I guess the finger lets you rip long t...

What is the best Hammond Glider?
I am looking to buy a Hammond Glider and just beginning the research on the saws. I have never seen one in person. I am a furniture maker looking for a second table saw for the shop to do joinery work. I currently use an Inca saw for this purpose. I am happy to wait and find the best Hammond for my ...

Fence for Hammond Glider
Hello,
I am new to the forum and interested in finding a Hammond Glider. I have read most of the posts but I didn't see anything about a fence for the saws. Seems like there have been many other modifications to the saw. Why not a fence?
Thanks
Karen
