Weird planer

Post by crzypete »

I came across this on Woodweb- planer It is a dead ringer for a Delta wedge bed, but with a Yates tag on it. Was this originally a Yates American Machine?

I know Delta took over Crescent and Walker turner, just looking for more info on this anomaly.

According to the OWWM, Yates sold an 18" planer to Rockwell in 1961, but, interestingly, it ISN'T the same machine. So, is it possible that they sold TWO 18" planers to the Delta/Rockwell clan?

Is this not posted in the 'Machinery Manufacturers' section of the Junkie to keep things purely Oliver/Hammond oriented???
