FS: Newton E30 oscillating edge sander SOLD

Post by crzypete »

For Sale: Newton E30 oscillating edge sander. condition is very good- fully redone by me including some machining work to redo the linear ways. Also redone by me was the idler spindle which was missing when I bought the machine. It has been fully repainted and used in my shop on a routine basis- ie light use in a one man studio.

Overall it runs well. The tracking can be a tad delicate to dial in, but I have gotten good at it and it is pretty easy for me.

Uses an 8" x 77" belt with a 30" platen- two sided.

Electrics are 3hp 3Ø on the main motor, I forget the HP of the drive motor, but it is also 3Ø.

The Back table tilts 30º. The miter gage is very well home made by me.

All in all it is a well made sander that has produced excellent first class results for me for the past number of years.

Price: $1400 Sander is sold
Location: just west of Saratoga Springs NY

Last call before eBay. This is really a great sander that leaves a great finish. Once you have owned an oscillating edge sander you will not know how you possibly lived without it. Sanding with 150 grit leaves a surface that is practically finish ready. You will not be disappointed. And after running the Oakley, i have to say the newton is more consistent to track.
