Pete - when you painted your saw did you use a coat of primer first or did you apply the paint directly to the bare metal and body filler? - Jim

Nice before & after series.

Now your challenge will be to use it enough so that it is back to looking like the "before" condition.

Hey Jim, I skipped the primer, went straight to paint. It would have been a better job to use a high grade sand-able primer. I do accept that in the end there has to be some sort of limits!

My primer experience is that when machines get scratched I prefer not to see primer.

DP, thanks! Glad I could entertain. But, I think I will take better care of the saw than the previous owners!

I just thought you might want to view this project more holistically in the grand universal cycle of Wear-it-down and Build-it-up.

More importantly, did you notice that your dust bin handle is the spitting image of our kitchen cabinet handles?
