What type of oil and grease to use on Oliver 399? What wt. oil to use in the speed selector gear case . . . thanx, Postman :?:

Hi Postman, I used standard 80/90 gear oil in the gearbox, and standard grease in the zerks.

I can check what the oliver literature has listed, but it is not currently handy.

Did your planer arrive yet? Have you tackled the knives?

Pete--That is what I used in the gear box also. We got the rotary phase converter going today. It all seems to be running ok. Have to do some fine-tuning with the infeed and outfeed rollers. It is all new to me, so it might take awhile, loosened the old blades, and reset them again for practice. The knife-setting block from Grand Rapids seems to work just fine . . . thanx for your help, Karl
