Hammond G44b arbor screw missing

Post by mbherndon »

I have a new to me G44b. Upon cleaning I noticed I am missing one of the arbor screws. It looks to be a double screw in the other two. Is this a problem? Can I use the saw with only two out of the three? Are there any sources for a replacement?
This machine has a 1hp 3450 replacement motor that may need some work (possibly bearing replacement or just a good cleaning). It also has only one pulley. Right now it is mounted via a piece of plywood to the machine. Is 1 hp the right size for a replacement? Do I need double pulleys?
thanks, Matthew

I realized today that the screw I was missing was a wedge plug and the socket head cap screw. I am not planning on running this machine with the trimmers, so can I safely remove the other two wedge plugs and not worry about them?

Thanks, Matthew
