Spacing on the bearing assembly

Post by plinkerton »

Hi There,

I'm finally re-assembling the saw with new bearings, and the original rebuilt motor. When I was putting the shaft/bearing assembly back together it struck me that I don't know what the exact spacing is supposed to be.

How far you seat the shaft would be dependent on where the bearings end up. Where the bearings end up seam to be dependent on how far the retaining caps are tightened. The spacing between the bearings are held constant by the spacer. Are both endcaps threaded to the exact distance that they need to be so that you just tightened till they bottom out and everything is perfect?

Sorry for the late reply. The rings allow you to position the blade perfectly centered in the blade slot. So, that is why they are moveable. you need to find the sweet spot to locate the blade properly.
