hammone glider G4b need parts
Hello, new to this website but hoping someone can help me out. I have just picked up a Hammond Glider G4b serial 5030. Any Idea of its vintage? But the real problem is that the fellow I got it from had it fall off a truck onto soft dirt, he never repaired it so the task now falls on me. The saw is in nice shape, no rust and it's all there, howerer in the fall the saw broke a couple of items. 1) the blade guard shattered and 2) the part of the table that raises up when you raise the blade also broke in half. that part number is T-1005 and that number is cast into the casting on it's underneath side. That part is held inplace by a pivot pin aprox. 8" long, I need that part also. Any held would be appreciated. Thanks, Carl. mt plone is 1 559 730-1596... in'm in California.

Hey Carl, welcome to the forum and congrats on the saw. Sorry for the delay in response, I've been way too busy lately!
I wouldn't worry too much about the guard-They kinda get in the way, although, I assume you are using it to cut type, so they get in the way a lot less. They should be available on the second hand market.
The cracked table section is possibly a brazing project, although that is a delicate task. If you cannot find one of these used, you may try to fabricate this element with a piece of plate steel.
If I understand the last part you need, I believe it is simply a piece of steel rod and that is what I would replace it with. If it is is turned or ground I would replicate that finish.
I may know of a member who is parting out a saw, I will ask him what he has and send him this way, but I believe he is even busier than I am at the moment. Hope you are not in a rush!
Pete
