How do you resaw?

Post by nektai »

My Tannewitz bandsaw came with a factory rip/resaw fence that I find inadequate. Years ago I fabricated a fence for my Crescent bandsaw out of an old Unisaw fence that satisfied many of my needs. Before I search out the parts to copy myself, I thought I would see how others have solved the same problem.

The issues for me are;

I like to have the fence on the left side of the blade.

I need some sort of adjustment to account for the blade drift.

A micro adjuster is very helpful to dial in the thickness of a laminate.

Here are some pictures

A wrench is used to swing the arm left or right to allow for drift. A lock knob tightens the back of the fence to reduce deflection

The Unicaw cam and microadjuster make the fence very usefull

Before I bought a resaw feeder I had bought this fence from the GreenBear.

It's used with the feeder or hand feeding. Beyond my own re sawing I cut guitar backs for people and using a Lenox 1" 2-3V vari tooth bi-metal blade it takes one pass thru the wide belt with 80 grit to clean up.
We cannot direct the wind,
but we can adjust the sails.
