Dadude those pictures will be very welcome. I am putting the shaper on the back burner for a few days as i wait for a reversing drum switch and the correct heaters for the starter. When I get back to it I would like to start with the spindle removal tool. Is that sucker reverse threaded? Thanks for ...

I have had no luck finding info on the shaper from SCM or anyone else. The motor is connected to the speed selector switch and the wiring is intact and factory done. The switch then sends three wires and a ground to the void where the magnetic starter belongs. This leads up to my plan. I have a Nema...

Arthur- I am very relieved to know that there is a junkie out there with specific knowledge of this machine. I am sure that i am missing the fence rails as I photographed all that i have. I am now quite convinced that this is the same machine that I used at RIT which means that I have partial knowle...

I am planning on yanking the motor tomorrow. Hopefully that will set me on my way to figuring out what sort of starter i will need. I have some ideas about places that can braze the motor mount but that is a discussion for after the motor is removed. The fence goes away for now. The broken parts wou...

SCM Invincible Shaper
Junkies, I have just returned with a new machine in desperate need of help. My heavy duty delta shaper has not been able to keep up so I was open to the notion of an upgrade. Crazypete pointed this one out on ebay and i won it for $253 which was my maximum bid to the dollar. I take this to be a good...

The clock came from MSC this is not the exact clock but it is made by the same co.. I am having trouble with the link. The clock is on page 3268. Here is the result which included a brief break to allow blood to flow back to my arms. http://www.nicoyektai.com/ebay/Forums/bet-03.JPG 3:35 who is the w...

Today i drilled through the concrete walls for the water line. I had promised to accept wagers on the amount of time involved. The plan changed a bit as the owner of the rental store wrote up my ticket to include an impact hammer. http://www.nicoyektai.com/ebay/Forums/bet-01.JPG So with this new inf...

Here are the last bunch of photos. There wont be any more because it is dejavu all over again as Yogi Berra would say. Overnight in the tank and rust is gone with slight black staining in its place. I keep tossing new tools in there. I am not sure when this madness will stop! Before http://www.nicoy...

I did touch the hand wheel to the wire wheel. This is the wheel on my buffer that spins at 1725 and is so mild that I don't wear gloves. I feel it is an acceptable amount of after work on the parts. The Vise did not get touched and the results are night and day. What is this stuff? I had a couple of...

The black residue did not benefit from the extra day http://www.nicoyektai.com/ebay/Forums/evaporust-05.JPG I ended up touching the face against my slow moving wire wheel to produce a nice fininsh. I did not touch this part and I am very happy with the results. You can see that the rusted areas have...

I got around to reading the literature that came with it and they suggest an overnight soak at 65 deg. I get much colder than that at night so i feel the extra day could help with the thin black film that has replaced the rust. They say the film is expected on high carbon steel and will simply wipe ...
