So after a dip in the lacquer bath and some paint the missing part has managed to get back into the head stock. The aftermarket variable speed is on also. http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/yy56/diamondsawdave/P1020681.jpg I sourced a new (used) baldor motor. It sounded nice and quiet when I got it ...

I managed to get it totally torn down. Now looking at all the parts. She was ridden hard and put away wet so to speak. It's got about 8 d...

So as I stated in a much earlier post. I wanted to try to use the forum as a possible full reference on how to rebuild at least one of these drill presses. In the future other things. So there are lots of pictures..... Lots. So I started with the head stock http://i777.photobucket.com/albums/yy56/di...

So finally after a lot of shop cleaning, buying bandsaws, finding sanders and making a bit of work. (Even though I promised I wouldn't make any new work till all the shows travel). I have managed to finish the paint on the drill press. There are a few last things but the meat and potatoes of it are ...

Walker Turner 16" W/M Bandsaw
So my quest for a wood/metal bandsaw has been long and arduous. After such a long search I had expanded my CL search area all the way to Boston and Buffalo and even considered driving to the Pennsylvania line if the price was right. For some reason though with my constant travels back and forth to V...

So things have been busy here and I have been doing more paperwork than actually work. So I managed to get out to the studio today to continue work on the press. I decided that I would have some parts sand blasted and called a friend and traded them a case of beer to have the table and the head stoc...

Thanks Pete, I slept on the problem last night and ended up reattaching the head stock to the base so as to not be trying to roll around on me. I used a gear puller to drive the quill (quill right?) down far enough so as to remove the bearing and retrieve the pulley from it. The nice thing was that ...

Its a pretty interesting set up. The central pulley system does seem to be adjustable. I plan to keep it and have started the deconstruction of the whole thing earlier today. I have gotten a bit stuck and searched the site looking for a previous rebuild especially because I know crzypete owns about ...

delta 16" drill press (Frankenpress)
So recently I found this delta drill press on the CI not a great price but I managed to talk the man down. Picked it up today. Its quite interesting. Apparently it was in the R&D dept. at General Electric. Seams they had a bit of fun with it converting it to variable speed. Not quite sure what m...

The saw looks better than it did when I came by to pick up the 3 foot bar. I did look in through the window to see it sitting by the door. With the lights off. The grind on the table top is extremely nice. I would have to add it to the list of tool drawing but right now there are 3 that need to be s...

Nico, I hope you do get to make it up to see it in person. Pictures really don't do them justice. I'll talk to pete about it when he gets back. He's out of town till tomorrow I think. Not sure if Cinci is still in business. I know Milicron is but not sure if they are still the same company or of Cin...

Ok junkies, It's been a while that I have meant to post all the pics but it has been kinda crazy trying to get all the work done for the show and handling all the stuff that goes with the spin up for the opening. So I'll keep it short and sweet. Pics , lots of pics. Dave http://i777.photobucket.com/...

Now the real question is when are you going to dye your glue green? I was thinking about this when you switched to that bottle a little while ago and I have a similar experience in a different material. I work quite a bit in plaster (for a while almost exclusively) I would get so mad when I could no...
