The blade that is on it looks like a quarter inch with skip tooth. The teeth are not close together and that's what makes me wonder why it would burn the wood? I felt the blade after turning it off and resawing a piece of maple. The blade was cool not hot as I thought it would be. Really has me puzz...

I checked the blade when I first tried the saw. It is on correctly. It cuts but burns. I will put a new blade on it. I never had this problem with my other bandsaws, Delta, Craftsman, Shopcraft, B&D, etc. I may put a smaller pulley on the motor. No more room for a larger pulley on the saw.

The Burning Bandsaw

I bought an older 14 inch bandsaw. Made in 1987 in Taiwan for Homier tools. It's all cast iron/steel and in good shape. It has what looks like a hook tooth blade on it. It runs great and is quiet. I am also new here and saw Pete's post at the oldwwmachine yahoo.com site. I love all the old machines too. I have an old Craftsman metal lathe. No plastic, all metal itself. Love the old tools, both power and handtools. :D
