I used a P-24 years ago and you will be one happy camper. FYI it will remove a good 1/2" a pass if you make the mistake. DAMHIKT. Should be 10 hp so your never putting the motor under load.

Well I was so excited I had to tell someone and the deer were not into listening this morning. Completed the deal on a Martin T17E table saw and could not turn down the Martin 20" jointer with special order 124" bed the guy had. Should be here in 10 days. The question that sometimes drives...

I have never been as happy with any planer as a Buss. The 24" Buss planers are becoming more available and cheaper. You will never regret it.

Before I bought a resaw feeder I had bought this fence from the GreenBear. http://www.thouser.com/temp2.html It's used with the feeder or hand feeding. Beyond my own re sawing I cut guitar backs for people and using a Lenox 1" 2-3V vari tooth bi-metal blade it takes one pass thru the wide belt ...

Can you say money. I failed metal shop. To top it off I'm pretty anal about being really good at what I do and it would require more time than I have (or am willing to spend). I don't do drywall or painting either because that's why they have rockers and painters. All IMHO

Wow Talarico has some nice stuff but I think even my wealthy clients might balk at $21,000 per 1,000 bd ft of 12/4 Quartered White Oak. I complain when I have to give $6,500 for high medullary ray Oak in 12/4 .

Guns do not make you a killer. I think killing makes you a killer. You can kill someone with a bat or a car, but no one is trying to ban you from driving to the ball game.

I did not have to deal with the DD issue with my 12" Crescent but found a 16" Gladu insert cutter head on the bay for $120 . It took $400 in new inserts and 30 minutes of machine work to retro. Got a quote from Gladu for this head and they wanted $2100.

Vince, I believe CGG Schmidt has some information on knife geometry

http://www.cggschmidt.com/

but to manufacture one cutter head is a very costly experience.

Have you considered a spiral insert head ? I think you will find it less costly than a new straight knife head.

Looking at your cold press I now remember why I invested in a vacuum press. Ok 10 minutes away I also have access to both a 5 x 12 cold press and a 60 section hot press.
