I have aquired a G3 serial 942. I would like to take table loose from base and install a plate to stop saw dust from falling into drawers. I see three large hex head bolts and have removed them. Table seems still attached, is there dowel pins used for locateing table to base? Very Happy

I don;t have the answer, but can tell you that hammond liked to use taper pins on their machines. They also liked socket head cap screws, so make sure you didn't miss one or more.

The G3 is an oldie but a goodie. It was cast iron floor to table, a beautiful saw. How is the condition?

There is supposed to be a bucket behind the door in the base. Chips and dust are supposed to collect there.

Pete

Smile Yes it defineitly is cast iron, you should have seen how four old men were able to load it on my pickup by using cement blocks under it to get it high enough to tip into truck. Luckily I had a friend with a lift truck to get it out. It is in great shape except for the gray paint job they put on it which is peeling off. The bucket is there as well.
